Absorbing a blow

From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Absorbing a roundhouse low kick in kickboxing.

In boxing and other fighting, absorbing a blow is when one person is hit without being badly hurt or stopped from continuing the fight. Sometimes a boxer will absorb a blow they could have avoided so that they can counterattack straight afterwards.
