An account is a record of something that has happened.

The word account can be used in a few different ways:

• A bank account records the money you have at the bank.
• An account on a website records information about what you do at the web site.
• To take account means be fully aware of something; realize fully - appreciate, realise, see, understand

• Accounting is the study of how to keep track of money for a bank, a business, or a person.
