Hummingbirds are birds of the family Trochilidae. They have traditionally been a part of the Order Apodiformes. The Sibley-Ahlquist taxonomy has changed their classification to be their own order Trochiliformes. Different systems of Taxonomy list them as an Order and a Family within another Order.
