The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a small dog breed (toy dogs). They were bred further back than the 16th century. They were kept as companions by many royalists during the 16th century however, which is where the name 'King Charles' comes from. King Charles II preferred the breed. They can stand up to 36cm or 16 inches in height. They are averagely 9 kilograms in weight. The breed can live for up to 10-14 years.They are very popular in England and are becoming popular in America. There are 4 type of Cavaliers each with their own markings. Ruby - golden coloured. Tri-colour - black body, dipped white, with a white muzzle and brown marking scattered around.
