Chicago Public Schools (CPS)[1] is a system of public schools in the city of Chicago. It is the third largest school district in the United States. CPS reported having 681 schools including 472 elementary schools, 106 high schools, 96 charter schools, and 7 contract schools.[2] The current interim superintendent is Dr. Janice K. Jackson since December 2017.
