William Clay Matthews III (born May 14, 1986 in Northridge, California) is an American football outside linebacker for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Matthews was drafted out of the University of Southern California by the Green Bay Packers with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft. Matthews is the son of former NFL player Clay Matthews, Jr. and his uncle is Bruce Matthews who also played in the NFL.
