Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a platform video game for the Wii U game console. It was developed by Retro Studios and published by Nintendo. It is the seventh game in the Donkey Kong Country series. It is the sequel to the 2010 Wii game Donkey Kong Country Returns. It was released on February 21, 2014.[2]

The story is about a group of Viking animals that invade Donkey Kong Island.[3] Players are able to play as Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Dixie Kong, and Cranky Kong. This game is the first game to have Dixie Kong as a playable character since Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! It has two-player multiplayer.

The music for this game was composed by David Wise. David Wise wrote the music for the original Super Nintendo Donkey Kong Country games a very long time ago. He was not involved in Donkey Kong Country Returns, which was released in 2010. A port was released for the Nintendo Switch on May 4, 2018.
