Facts as statements [change]
A fact is something which is true. What is it that is correct? It is the sense of a statement or proposition. In principle, statements are either true or false. However, in practice, their truth value may not be known, and waits for appropriate evidence. Fact includes i. Anything staeof things, or relation of things capable of being perceived by the senses; and ii. Any mental condition of which any person is conscious. e.g. a man heard or saw something is a fact, a man said certain words is fact, the man has a certain reputation is fact

- The leaves of growing plants are usually green.

False statements [change]
- Water always comes from the sky.
- Dogs are made of cheese.
- All people have 1 leg.
- Cows live in water.
- There are horses alive on the moon.
Opinions [change]
A fact is not the same as an opinion. An opinion is perceived and assumed to be true, but lacks proof or evidence. The scientific method is a means by which an opinion may be tested. However, not all opinions are testable, so it may not be possible to know if they are true. An opinion that can not be tested is still an opinion until someone can find a way to test whether it is true or not.
