Object history
Deutsch: Der Löwe als Wappentier Adlikons wurde von der Wappenkommission des Kantons Zürich vorgeschlagen. Das Wappen weist auf das kyburgische Ministerialengeschlecht von Adlikon hin, das seit 1230 urkundlich fassbar ist und dessen Wappen auf einem Siegel aus der zweiten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts überliefert ist. Die Wappenrolle von Zürich, um 1340, weist den halben schwarzen, rotgezungten Löwen dem Geschlecht von Wagenberg bei Oberembrach zu, das sich genealogisch von den Adlikon herleiten lässt. Der Gemeinderat stimmte dem Wappen am 31.10.1931 zu.
