Deutsch: „Meine Welt ist voller unergründlicher Schatten“. Körperlich und geistig stark zurückgeblieben, war verkrüppelt und ist wahrscheinlich nie aufrecht gegangen. Sie war eines von einem Viertel der Kinder weltweit die von Jodmangel bedroht sind, bekannt als die global am leichtesten vermeidbare Ursache von Geistesschwäche.
English: "Mine is a world of incomprehensible shadows". Significantly impaired mentally and physically, she never spoke, was stunted and probably never walked. She was one of a quarter of the world’s children at risk of iodine deficiency, known to be the world’s leading cause of preventable intellectual disability.
