Deutsch: „In Rot ein silberner (weißer) heiliger Martin zu Pferd mit Bettler, darüber im goldenen (gelben) Schildhaupt drei grüne gestielte, balkenweise gestellte Haselnüsse.“ Das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens wurde der Gemeinde Nottuln bereits 1937 vom damaligen Oberpräsidenten der Provinz Westfalen verliehen. Der Gemeinde Nottuln ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten (heute Bezirksregierung) vom 01.02.1983 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens verliehen worden. Das Wappen zeigt den hl. Martin, Schutzpatron der Gemeinde in seiner wohl bekanntesten Darstellung, der Mantelteilung für einen frierenden Bettler. Die Haselnüsse im Schildhaupt des Wappens weisen auf den Namen der Gemeinde hin. Dieser geht auf die Bezeichnungen „Nuitlon“ oder „Nutlon“ zurück, die als „Nusswald“ oder „Nussgehölz“ ausgelegt werden. Es handelt sich somit um ein teilweise "redendes Wappen".
English: „Below a chief Or with three stemmed hazelnuts vert, gules, Saint Martin, the beggar and the horse Argent.“ The arms were granted on September 10, 1937 and confirmed on February 1, 1983. The chief shows three canting hazelnuts. The name has been explained as (hazel)nut-forest. The lower half shows the local patron saint, St. Martin, with the beggar.
