Deutsch: „In Blau ein auf silbernen Wellen linkshin segelndes zweimastiges goldenes Schiff mit silbernen Segeln und Flaggen.“ Das Schiff ist eine mittelalterliche Hansekogge und steht symbolisch für den früheren Handel mit den Niederlanden.
English: Spiekeroog is a small island in the Wattenmeer (Wadden Sea) in the North of Germany. The island was only inhabited by fishermen and traders, who traded mainly with the Netherlands. It had no own seal or arms until 1968. The arms show a medieval kogge ship, the main ship of the Hanseatic league and the coastal areas in the north of Germany. The colours are the colours of Ostfriesland, as all the islands historically belonged to Ostfriesland.
