English: 061025-N-0696M-118 Washington, D.C. - Legendary basketball coach Red Auerbach speaks after being honored with the 2006 Lone Sailor Award by the w:United States Navy Memorial at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. The image of the Lone Sailor, that of a seagoing veteran standing ready for service in a faraway port, personifies the sacrifices, courage and commitment of Navy people past, present and future. Mr. Auerbach died three days later.
