Source Texto de la ficha del MET: Esta guitarra fue utilizada por el legendario guitarrista Andrés Segovia. De los agujeros tapados en el peghead, parece que este instrumento fue hecho originalmente como una guitarra de once cuerdas, un diseño popular en Andalucía durante la última mitad del siglo XIX. Sin duda, se convirtió a su actual configuración de seis cuerdas antes de ser adquirida por Segovia. Además de la etiqueta de Manuel Ramírez, Santos Hernández puso una etiqueta de reparación en 1922. Cuando se hizo este instrumento, Hernández trabajó para Ramírez. La parte posterior de dos piezas está hecha de palo de rosa brasileño; la parte superior de dos piezas es de pícea.
