Fuji (富士市, Fuji-shi) is a Japanese city in eastern Shikuoka Prefecture on the island of Honshū. It is near Mount Fuji.

It has been recognized as a special city since 2001.[1]

In the Edo period, Yoshiwara (吉原, Yoshiwara-juku) was the 14th of the 53 shogunate-maintained waystations (shuku-eki) along the Tōkaidō road which connected Edo and Kyoto.[2]
