Fuji, Shizuoka

Fuji (富士市 Fuji-shi) is a Japanese city in eastern Shikuoka Prefecture on the island of Honshū.
It has been recognized as a special city since 2001.[1]

In the Edo period, Yoshiwara (吉原 Yoshiwara-juku) was the 14th of the 53 shogunate-maintained waystations (shuku-eki) along the Tōkaidō road which connected Edo and Kyoto.[2]
