George Gordon Meade (December 31, 1815 – November 6, 1872) was a general in the Union Army of the American Civil War. He led the Union Army of the Potomac from the Battle of Gettysburg to the end of the Civil War. He also fought in both the Second Seminole War and the Mexican-American War. Meade was born in Cadiz, Spain.

Meade died of pneumonia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, aged 56.
