Howard Brush Dean III (born November 17, 1948) is a Democratic Party member. Earlier, he held office with the Democratic National Committee starting in 2005 and ending 2009. Before that, he was Governor of Vermont (1991 to 2003). Dean ran, without success, for United States President during 2004.
