He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Maria Zavala.[1] He has two sisters who were raised with his mother's family in El Salvador.[3] His sister Anabel died before Martinez ever had the chance to meet her.[3] Martinez has never met his father.[4] When he was young he moved to Hope, Arkansas with his mother.[1] At 17, Martinez and his mother moved to Dalton, Georgia, before his senior year of high school.[1]
