Jonathan Toews (born April 29, 1988 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is an NHL ice hockey centre for the Chicago Blackhawks and the current team captain. He was picked by the Blackhawks with the third overall pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. He played college hockey at the University of North Dakota.
He was chosen along with Brent Seabrook and Duncan Keith to play for Team Canada in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The Premier of Manitoba, Greg Selinger, named a lake after him ninety five miles to the north of Flin Flon, Manitoba.[1]

Toews was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the 2009-10 playoff MVP when his Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup on 9 June, 2010.[2]
