Judy Garland (born Frances Ethel Gumm; June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969) was an American film actress and singer. Her best-known role was "Dorothy Gale" in The Wizard of Oz (1939). She was nominated for the Oscar and won many other awards in her career. She was the mother of the actress and singer Liza Minelli.
