Katherine Esther Jackson (born May 4, 1930 as Kattie B. Screws) is the matriarch of the Jackson family of musicians. She was born in Barbour County, Alabama. She has been married to Joe Jackson since 1949. She is the mother of singers La Toya, Michael (deceased), Janet, Maureen Reillette, Tito, Steven Randall (aka Randy), Jermaine, Marlon, Brandon (who died at birth) and Sigmund (also named Jackie). Katherine Jackson was born around Alabama, though raised her children in Gary and East Chicago, Indiana.
