Utagawa Kunisada (Japanese: 歌川国貞, 1786 - 1865), also called Utagawa Toyokuni III (Japanese: 三代歌川豊国), was the most popular artist of ukiyo-e in nineteenth-century Japan.[source?] In his time, he was much more popular than other artists that lived in the same years, like Hiroshige and Kuniyoshi.
