Liberty University is a private, christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia. The university has about 69,214 students. It was founded in 1971. The current chancellor of the university is Jerry Falwell, Jr. .

The athletics teams of the university are called the Flames. They have 18 varsity teams and they compete in the Big South Conference.
