Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. The band was formed in 2000. As of 2023, the band has made eight studio albums. In 2018, the band won a Grammy Award for the song "Sultan's Curse".[1]

In 2002, the band made Remission. This was their first album. Mastodon's second album, Leviathan, was released in 2004. It is a concept album. It is based on Moby-Dick by Herman Melville.[2]
