Newcastle upon Tyne is a city in north-east England. About 250,000 people live in the city, though even more live in the area around it.

Newcastle is a very friendly city and is mostly famous for the River Tyne, Angel of the North, and all the bridges including the iconic Millenium Bridge. The local dialect is Geordie. Pronunciation of "alright", "town" and "house" is "areet", "toon" and "hoos". The Geordie people and many other non geordie people live in and around Newcastle upon Tyne which has excellent shopping facilities at Eldon Square. Out of town is the well known Metro Centre providing shopping.
