Nina Dobrev (born on January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria) is a Canadian actress. She is best known for playing the role of Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce on the dramatic television series, The Vampire Diaries[1][2] .

Nina Dobrev was born on January 9, 1989 in Sofia, Bulgaria to Bulgarian parents. her father is a computer scientist, and her mother is an artist. Her family moved to Canada when she was two years old. She was raised in Toronto, Ontario.
