November is the eleventh month of the year. It has 30 days. Its name is from the Latin word novem, which meant "nine". It was the ninth month of the year before January and February were added to the Roman Calendar. November begins on the same day of the week as March every year and also February except in leap years.
November's flower is the Chrysanthemum. Its birthstone is the topaz. The meaning of the topaz is fidelity.

- November 1 is All Saint's Day (Christian); this is the day after Halloween.
- November 11 is Remembrance Day, or Veterans Day in the U.S. At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The Allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead and continue to do so by marking a 1–2 minute silence at 11 am on November 11 each year. The time of the remembrance is also known as the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
