Oddanchatram

Oddanchtram is a town in the Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu. It is known as the vegetable city of Tamil Nadu. Plants grown here are onion,maize, tomato, chilli, cauliflower, beans and other vegetables. The vegetables are exported to nearby states. Also it is famous for its vegetable and curd market, which can sell up to 5,000 tons of produce a day.[1] It has very good climatic conditions as it is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Palani Lord Murugan Temple is near Oddanchatram. It is an ancient temple built on top of the Palni Hills. It is one of the most visited temples in Tamil Nadu, where people have to climb 600 steps to reach the shrine.[2]

It connected by road to major cities of Tamil Nadu including Madurai, Coimbatore, Erode, Trichy, Chennai, and also to other states such as Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
