Paratyphoid fever

Paratyphoid fever, also known as enteric fever, is a waterborne disease caused by the bacterium Salmonella Paratyphi. It is related to Typhoid fever, but like Typhoid, it is unrelated to Typhus. Symptoms include:
- Fever,
- Abdominal pain
- Swelling of the liver or spleen
- Slow heart rate.
The disease is rarely fatal and people usually recover in a few days, but some people can carry the bacteria for months.
