Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur is a region of France. It is in the south, next to Italy. Its capital is Marseille. Very often its name is shortened to PACA or Paca. 4.5 million people live in the region,[when?] 1.35 million of them in the urban area of the capital.

The departments in the region are Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Alpes-Maritimes, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var, and Vaucluse.

The region is currently[when?] third in economic output (After île-de-France and Rhône-Alpes). It is first in tourism.
