Renal disease

Renal disease is the name for a disease or condition that mainly affects the kidneys. In a medical context, people talk about nephropathy or nephrosis. Examples are:
- Certain analgesics affect the kidney function, if they are taken over a longer time period
- In the case of an organ transplantation, certain drugs need to be taken to suppress the reaction of the immune system. These often affect the kidneys.
- Diabetes
- High blood pressure
- Certain diseases, basically from eating bread contaminated with Aristolochic acid.
- Certain viruses, such as HIV.
