Rhône-Alpes is a region of France. Its capital is Lyon. Six million people live in the region. About 1.6 million people live in the urban area of Lyon. Another 900,000 in the urban areas of Grenoble and Saint-Étienne.

This region is the one most in competition as to industrial output with the Île-de-France. They speak French here. They eat baguettes, French fries and crêpes.[source?]
