Richard Lee Petty (born July 2, 1937) is a former NASCAR racing driver. Petty won 200 Cup races, more than any other driver in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.[1] Richard has also won the Winston Cup (now Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series) seven times. Only Dale Earnhardt, Jimmie Johnson and Petty have this championship seven times. Richard is often called "The King" of NASCAR.[2]
