Robert Lee Zemeckis (born May 14, 1952[1]) is an American movie director, producer and screenwriter. He was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.[1] His Lithuanian-American father and Italian American mother were Roman Catholics.

Zemeckis directed Romancing the Stone, Back to the Future, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Back to the Future Part II, Back to the Future Part III, Death Becomes Her, Forrest Gump, Contact, What Lies Beneath and Cast Away.
