Roland Emmerich

Roland Emmerich (born 10 November 1955) is a German movie director, producer and screenwriter. He was born in Stuttgart and grew up in nearby Sindelfingen, Baden-Wurttemberg, West Germany. His movies include Universal Soldier, Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, The Day After Tomorrow, 10,000 BC, 2012 and Anonymous.

Emmerich is openly gay.[1]
