Saga (佐賀市 Saga-shi) is the capital city of Saga Prefecture in Japan.[1]
Saga is in northwest Kyūshū.[2] Around 240,000 people live there.

Saga developed around Saga castle of the Nabeshima clan.[1]
The city was the capital of Saga domain in the Edo period, and it was the capital of Hizen Province.[3]
Every fall it holds the Saga International Balloon Fiesta.
