Steubenville High School rape case

The Steubenville High School rape happened in Steubenville, Ohio, United States, on the night of August 11, 2012. A 16-year-old girl was raped at a party by two 16-year-old high school footballer players, Trent Mays and Ma'lik Richmond. The girl did not remember because she was very drunk at the time. On August 12, 2012 Mays was sentenced to at least two years in prison for juvenile criminals. Richmond was sentenced to at least a year there.[1] He was released in January 2014.[2] The case got attention all over the United States after it was written about by the New York Times.
