Australia.gov.au website and 'WST' vs 'AWST'[change source]

"Time Zones in Australia by Australian Government" page isn't actually official, or referenced. The use of the abbreviation "AWST" is erronious, and isn't actually in use anywhere in Western Australia. As far as I can tell someone typing up some content extrapolated it from AEST etc.

The defacto abbreviation in use in Western Australia, (and in fact, the rest of Australia) is WST. I've put a request into data.gov.au to find an official source and place it online for reference, and they are looking into it.

Putting this up and claiming it as official is just going to propagate incorrect information and give it more authority. Comment by User:203.206.228.28

At this time, we need to rely on government information websites such as this one which support AWST. While your comments above maybe right they are also unreferenced, so at the moment the balance is with the government. As we do not want to give out incorrect information, I look forward to any further info you may have. --Peterdownunder (talk) 06:15, 12 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
