Do caracal's like water?
formal and informal names[change source]
If it is a formal name of a genus it is always capitalised and italicised. If it's a common name it does not, and appears as a lower-case word. We run into trouble when the formal scientific name is the same as the common name. Best to stick to the common name after the scientific name has been introduced.
