You must be joking? Putting in the greek derivation in greek in Simple WikiPedia? --talkBozMo 09:43, 22 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

"Simple" refers to the use of english, not the information given. There is more reason to give the greek on simple than en, really, as we are writing for non-english speakers to read, and they could well be greek. (That's a bit of a stretch, I know, but it should still stay). -- Tango 11:38, 23 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Bias - unbiased?[change source]

The mentioning of the Sovyiet encyclopedia as biased is rubbish if set apart from the others. Of course any encyclopedia is biased and Britannica, Brockhaus or wikipedia are exellent examples. Just have a look at one of the older Britannicas now up in the internet and it is obvious. Sovyet bias was obvious to Westerners because it was strange. Britannica of this generation is not strange to people brought up in the West. I find simple:wp sometimes strangely biased probably because the attempt to shorten views and make them simpler brings bias out to the open much faster. This is true. --78.49.199.167 (talk) 09:31, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[change source]

Can I add the etymology of "encyclopedia" without copying from English Wikipedia?
