I disagree with your decision to rename this article to Ethene. The English Wikpedia, as well as many other Wikipedias all have this article named as Ethylene. I would suggest that we do the same. I've decided to change it because this name is common sense. Cheers, Razorflame 19:00, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It was a mistake. Sorry -- AmericanEagle 19:03, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But you weren't even the one who moved it in the first place? Cheers, Razorflame 19:04, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I Redirected it wrong. -- AmericanEagle 19:17, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
All right. Cheers, Razorflame 19:18, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to change the name of this article to Ethene. It is the proper name for the alkene. Hydrocarbons are named periodically according to the number of carbon atoms in them:
1 - meth
2 - eth
3 - prop
4 - but
5 - pent
6 - hex
...and so on...
This applies to all hydrocarbons.
So an alkane with 3 carbon atoms would be propane.
An alkyne with 6 carbon atoms would be hexyne.
An alkene with 2 carbon atoms would be ethene.

Comment: Why do I keep getting shown pointless pages. --Terry (talk) 20:09, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Comment:It isn't a pointless page. That page states that Wikipedia is not a vote. Voting is never a substituion for discussion. No offense, but this vote really isn't needed, as we could have easily come up with a resolution for this issue without a vote. I believe that this page shoud be titled the same way as the English Wikipedia's version, because I believe that we are an offshoot of the English Wikipedia.  Comment: - It is a pointless page; It doesn't exist! --Terry Talk - Changes 21:31, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake! I saw it used in another scenario, so I thought that it was a valid page, but apparently, it isn't. Thanks for catching this! Hold on..m:Don't vote for everything. There...that one should be the one I meant to link to. Cheers, Razorflame 23:47, 6 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
