The intro[change source]

The Gospel of Mark is a gospel (good news) believed to be written by John Mark, a close companion to Simon Peter, who was one of the twelve disciples of Jesus. The gospel is usually placed second in the New Testament. Many people believed the book was written earlier than the other three gospels.

Nobody who read this would have a clue what it is about, unless they already knew, and then they wouldn't bother to look it up! It does tell us, in the third sentence, that it is a book. Doesn't mention the word Bible, though. It also tells us he was a disciple of Jesus, but nnot a clue that thhe book is actually about Jesus! Amandajm (talk) 05:39, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If there are links to other articles, such as Jesus, John Mark (will need to be created), and Simon Peter then it should be fine. It sounds like an informative introduction to me. You must keep in mind that this is the Simple English version of Wikipedia. It is not meant to be too complicated. --Andrew from NC (talk) 05:44, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think scholars actually do believe that Mark had anything to do with Peter - it may be simple English, but it doesn't need to be wrong. 87.194.214.44 (talk) 15:27, 11 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Other Articles[change source]

If someone wants to expand this article, I have found links to several other articles which appear to have some useful information: Mark(1), Mark(2), and Mark(3). All of these are easy to read and understand. Of course the main Wikipedia article should also be consulted.
