References problem[change source]

The references are broken because they use a template we don't have. I assume they were copy pasted from enwp? I'm not sure how to go about fixing them, just letting whoever's watching this article now. Giggy (talk) 14:56, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Suggest avoiding the use of bullet for both the list-item designator and the group operation[change source]

Having the list-item designator appear as a • (bullet) and the operation appear as a •, even if with somewhat different sizes, offers an ambiguity that may not be readily resolved by all readers. I'm not familiar enough with wiki syntax to change this.
  • For all a, b in G,
    ab is also in G.

I agree. Would an asterisk (*) be better for the operation? Lights and freedom (talk) 21:11, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

G is ambiguously described[change source]

In "Mathematicians use capital letters to stand for groups. They often use G, H, or K", the letter G is referring to the group, previously defined as a set and an operation.
In "To name the group, one should say all three parts: (G, •, e)", the letter G is used to denote just the set.
