This must be by far the most difficult simple English article I ever read. I understand that it is difficult to explain, but what is the point of explaining it in a way that nobody can understand? --Hoerth (talk) 20:21, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just simplified, and removed most of the article. Hopefully it is less confusing now. --Eptalon (talk) 21:02, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Big improvement indeed. That stuff was made for serious students of mathematics. It's somewhat too slim now, needing more links and a fuller but dejargonized exposition. Jim.henderson (talk) 13:22, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think we face an issue here. Either we are going to have a page on 19th century geometry and/or the history of modern geometry or we have no basis for explaining pages like this. On the other hand, is it reasonable for a wiki with our aims to teach subjects which are scarcely taught in school? We're in a similar fix with advanced physics concepts.
A useful source on the history of modern mathematics is Carl B. Boyer 1985. A history of mathematics. Princeton. IBSN 0-691-02391-3. Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:31, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Unless we find an editor with a mathematical background and a strong interest in mathematical topology, I do not think this is going to happen. Looking what is taught in schools (pre-university), the subjects are probably limited to figures that can be represented in 3d, and perhaps Möbius strips and Tesseracts as "odd" cases. --Eptalon (talk) 07:25, 2 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
