Removal or Reworking of Section "What does intellectual disability look like?"[change source]

This section has a single source and appears to me to make baseless claims which could lead to prejudice based on visual appearance. I think care should be taken here. The annotated photograph may contain original research and is, in any case, specific to a single condition. Intellectual disability has a number of causes and many or most need not have any specific look. The scare quotes around the phrase "typical look" ought also to be a warning sign. The English Wikipedia page has no corresponding section. Additionally, the section is logically incoherent since, though it foregrounds appearance, it discusses behaviour. It seems to me that some of the material relating to behaviour might be kept, but placed elsewhere, or the section might be renamed and the material relating to appearance dropped. Thoughts? That section looks like it hasn't really been touched in a long time. As to the picture, DEWP uses it too, but as you say it is specific to one condition. Anyonw can edit & improve Wikipedia. So if you think that you can, please do. Eptalon (talk) 10:53, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I concur with your statement - it should be removed from the article at once. Teachnology (talk) 15:33, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Intro rewritten[change source]

This likley was one of the first articles of this Wikipedia, and it still shows in many ways. Based on the EnWP article, I have reworked the introduction, and added a section on how common the condition is. With the definition that we use now (less intelligent than average, and likely problems getting through everyday life), we still need to point out, that there are many people who are less intelligent than average, and that don't count as mentally disabled. I haven't thought about aqn accurate way of doing that though. Eptalon (talk) 16:15, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
