I don't think that players in the English Premier League qualify for quick deletion. Kansan (talk) 03:21, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What's your point? The article does not explain why this footballer is notable.--   CR90  03:23, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I would think that in such cases, notability would be inherited. For example, if I wrote an article about an NBA player, I would think that being in the NBA in itself would imply notability, or if I wrote an article about a state governor or something like that. Kansan (talk) 03:24, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not necessarily, there's not an article on every NFL player just because they're in the NFL.--   CR90  03:25, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Just because there is not an article on every NFL player does not mean there cannot be an article on them. Either way (talk) 03:27, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An absence of an article does not mean that there is absence of notability if there were an article. In any event, the fact that we're having this conversation suggests that in cases such as this, it would probably be better to use RfD in the future rather than qD. Kansan (talk) 03:27, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you suggesting doing away with QD A4 or what?--   CR90  03:28, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, I'm not suggesting that at all. I'm simply saying that this does not qualify for QD A4. Kansan (talk) 03:29, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Come on, CR90, of course Kansan wasn't meaning that! :) The English Wikipedia has lots of sources, we can improve it from there. Classical Esther 03:30, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have declined the QD A4 deletion for this article because I find it to be in a gray area, or in question. It needs more discussion. Best, Jon@talk:~$ 03:30, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
