I felt compelled to add "the tag", as this article sounds like something Chiang Kai-shek would write! It has a very anti-Mao POV.

"mass murder"
implies he was sadistic
China became "poorer and weaker"
"No one liked China anymore."

I disagree with your changes. It is very disturbing on a very deep level whenever someone dumps a ton a white-wash on a brutal dictator who unquestionably WAS a mass murderer, and one of the biggest mass murderers in history. Blockinblox 22:23, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, that's what I was looking for! I was just trying to neutralize the article, and now people who are experts can add factual, supported allegations against him. I just didn't know how they should fit in, or where sources were. So please, go ahead. I feel the article is very small. neither of the things (good or bad) is explained in detail. mao's leadership is also not explained. it is be a stub
