A female moose is called a cow, makes are called bulls, and babies are called calves.

Shouldn't this animal be called Elk? I think that is what most of the world call the animal outside of north America.

Moose population in Finland[change source]

The article currently claims that the moose population in Finland in 2008 was about 264 000. These numbers are wildly inaccurate. Several sources (sorry, but they are in Finnish) agree that the population in the 2000sis steadily somewhere between 80 000 and 100 000. A paper from the University of Jyvaskyla: www.rktl.fi/www/uploads/pdf/Tutkimuspaivat%202012/pusenius.pdf 2007 population between 74 000 and 94 000: http://www.rktl.fi/tiedotteet/hirvikanta_pieneni_edelleen.html Same numbers as above for 2007 confirmed by this article: http://www.savonsanomat.fi/uutiset/kotimaa/hirvien-maara-vaheni-edelleen/1113492
