I could not find a direct translation for "In multis solaciis". My best guess is that is refers to the great increase in knowledge about the Solar System and/or Science in general.

Also needed is a synopsis on the Academy's role in the life and times of Galileo. The result of the Vatican's denouncement of factual Science ultimate leads to the Catholic Church's modern embrace of the Scientific Method (especially among Jesuits).

Lastly, also needed are a few words on the Academy's position of Evolution (in support of a "Darwinian" view as voiced by Father George V. Coyne) and how that is tempered by an allowance made for two divine acts of "intelligent design".

  • the start of all life
  • the soul (but not the body) of man

Wrong name[change source]

Please move the page to Pontifical Academy of Sciences, which is the correct title of the Academy. I'm a longstanding member of the regular en.wikipedia.org but have just joined the simple version so I cannot move it myself yet. Thanks. Gcmarino (talk) 10:36, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have just moved it, thanks.--Eptalon (talk) 10:38, 3 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
