It has been suggested that the Quetzalcoatlus could not fly. 1. Hatzegopteryx (possibly the same animal) may be larger, though some later studies say it is not. wiooiw (talk) 19:21, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In WP we go by the standard expert view, not by the speculations of individuals. The consensus is, and has been for some time, that all pterosaurs flew, including this one. Macdonald-ross (talk) 21:32, 20 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Before the publication of two papers saying it was impossible for them to fly, the standard expert view was that they could fly. That is not really the case now. There was a new paper published not too long ago that tried to prove the flight theory, but came with mixed opinions from both sides. This article does sum up the debate pretty well. wiooiw (talk) 04:26, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you: I have added a section on flight. Remember that primary publications are not our main concern: as an encyclopedia we can only report consensus, as represented by review articles. Secondary publications are what we go for. I think the consensus is clearly on the side of flight, but that the debate will continue for some time.
